Joint assembly of the South Carolina Senate and House of Representatives scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, 2026, immediately following the State of the Judiciary address, to conduct trustee elections for multiple state universities and institutions

Coastal Carolina University Board of Trustees will have 13 seats filled, including positions for the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th Congressional Districts plus 8 at-large seats, with terms expiring between 2027 and 2029

University of South Carolina Board of Trustees will have 4 seats filled for the 2nd, 4th, 12th, and 15th Judicial Circuits, with terms expiring between 2026 and 2028

Additional trustee elections will be held for The Citadel (1 at-large seat), Lander University (3 seats), Medical University of South Carolina (1 seat), SC State University (1 seat), Winthrop University (2 seats), and Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School (3 at-large seats)

All nominations must be made exclusively by the Chairman of the Joint Legislative Committee to Screen Candidates for College and University Boards of Trustees, with no nominating or seconding speeches permitted from General Assembly members
