Requires fire departments to obtain a valid South Carolina Fire Department (SCFD) number from the State Fire Marshal's Office by July 1, 2026, making them eligible for a National Emergency Response Information System (NERIS) number

Expands "employment date" definition to include when a firefighter is added to the department's roster as a recruit, not just when fully trained

Removes "or other entity" from the employer definition, limiting it specifically to fire departments

Allows firefighters to register with a valid driver's license from any state rather than requiring a South Carolina driver's license specifically
