Removes the requirement for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to practice under supervision of a licensed physician or dentist and eliminates mandatory approved written guidelines

Establishes prescriptive authority for CRNAs, allowing them to prescribe medications including Schedule II-V controlled substances after completing required pharmacology education (45 contact hours) and application process

Limits Schedule II narcotic prescriptions to a 24-hour supply unless the patient is post-operative or a chronic pain patient; Schedule II nonnarcotic substances limited to 30-day supply

Requires CRNAs with prescriptive authority to complete 20 hours of continuing education in pharmacology every two years for renewal, including 2 hours on controlled substances

Prohibits CRNAs from supervising, training, proctoring, or participating in clinical education of anesthesiologist assistant students

Repeals Section 40-47-197 regarding physician and dentist supervision of CRNAs
