Creates a pathway for internationally licensed physicians to practice in South Carolina by granting provisional licenses to those sponsored by healthcare providers, provided they have passed USMLE steps 1, 2, and 3, completed residency or 7+ years of post-doctoral practice, and practiced as a licensed physician for at least 5 years

Establishes an expedited licensing track for physicians from nine approved countries (Australia, Ireland, Israel, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and Canada), with authority for the Board of Medical Examiners to add additional countries

Provisional licenses automatically convert to full licenses after three years of active practice in South Carolina

Requires international physician applicants to have federal work authorization, English fluency, good standing with their home country's medical licensing body, and degrees from medical schools recognized by the American Medical Association

Takes effect January 1, 2026
