Honors former Governor David M. Beasley, a Lamar native who served as South Carolina's governor from 1994-1998 and was one of the youngest governors in state history

Recognizes Beasley's accomplishments including establishing South Carolina's education accountability system, making the state first to connect all schools to the internet, and receiving the 2003 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award

Acknowledges Beasley's international service as Executive Director of the U.N. World Food Programme (2017-2022), where he increased funding from $6 billion to over $14 billion annually and led the organization when it received the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize

Directs a copy of the resolution be sent to the Department of Transportation and presented to former Governor Beasley
