South Carolina Senate resolution honors Timothy M. "Tim" James, Mayor Pro Tem of Cayce, for his public service as he concludes his term on Cayce City Council after not seeking reelection in November

James served as Chief of Police and Director of Public Safety for Cayce, was named Strom Thurmond Police Officer of the Year, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and JFK School of Government at Harvard University

First elected to Cayce City Council in 2010, served until 2015, then returned in a 2020 special election to represent District 1

As CEO of the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce, James led the organization through financial challenges and helped it earn recognition as the 2024 Chamber of Commerce of the Year by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives

Resolution directs that a copy be presented to Mr. Tim James in recognition of his contributions to the community
