Elected to Neeses Town Council in 1987 and served as mayor beginning April 4, 1989, continuing as councilmember or mayor until 2022

Oversaw construction of the town hall completed in 2004 following approval of Orangeburg County's One Cent Sales Tax, and was instrumental in establishing an Orangeburg County EMS sub-station

Served for over 35 years on the Town of Neeses Cemetery Committee and as a commissioner of the town's Zoning Board of Appeals, while also serving on the Orangeburg County Fire Board
