Geddis was a first-generation college graduate from Benedict College (1981), member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, and served 30 years as executive vice president and chief operating officer at Universal Benefits Marketing Firm Inc.

Founded "Coats for Kids" initiative providing over 400 coats to children each winter, and helped raise over $100,000 annually as a fundraiser with the Lou-Von Family Foundation Inc.

Served as pastor of Burning Bush New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church and founded Infinity Diabetic Medical Supply to provide home medical equipment to patients

Resolution directs that a copy be presented to the family of Fannie Mae McElveen Geddis
