South Carolina Senate resolution honors Stephen Tyrone Colbert, born May 13, 1964, raised in Charleston, upon the final episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Colbert attended Porter-Gaud School in Charleston and is the youngest of eleven children of Dr. James William Colbert, Jr. and Lorna Elizabeth Tuck Colbert

Graduated from Northwestern University's School of Communication and began his career at Chicago's Second City improvisational comedy group

Rose to prominence as a correspondent on The Daily Show, created and starred in The Colbert Report (2005-2014), and became host of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS in 2015

Resolution directs that a copy be presented to Colbert as a token of appreciation and pride from the South Carolina Senate
