Ambulance operators must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license and either be licensed EMS personnel, a firefighter, a law enforcement officer, or have completed CPR training and a minimum 6-hour emergency vehicle operator course

Qualified ambulance operators may use blue lights and exceed speed limits without audible signals when operating outside municipal city limits

Each ambulance run must include one EMT or advanced life support personnel plus one qualified ambulance operator

Ambulance services must maintain operator qualification documentation and provide it to the department upon request

Licensed EMS personnel must report convictions, license encumbrances, hospital disciplinary actions, malpractice settlements, and contact information changes to the board within 30 days
