Requires all South Dakota public school districts and accredited nonpublic schools to implement cardiac emergency response plans developed in collaboration with local emergency service providers

Mandates placement of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in clearly marked, unlocked, accessible locations on school grounds and at all athletic venues used for practices or competitions

Establishes cardiac emergency response teams at each school to respond to sudden cardiac arrest and similar life-threatening emergencies during school-sanctioned activities

Requires annual CPR, first-aid, and AED training (minimum 3 hours) for athletic trainers, coaches, school nurses, and cardiac emergency response team members

Schools must conduct annual emergency response drills and provide yearly testing and maintenance of all AED equipment
