Beginning July 1, 2027, individuals who act as fishing guides for compensation must obtain an annual license from the Department of Game, Fish and Parks, with an exemption for guides operating on water bodies entirely within their own property

License fees are $150 for residents and $300 for nonresidents, with all licenses expiring on March 31st and fees being nonrefundable

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and maintain $1 million per occurrence in general liability insurance

Operating as a fishing guide without a license or with a suspended license is a Class 1 misdemeanor, with each client served constituting a separate offense

License fees will be deposited into the Department of Game, Fish and Parks fund to support fish restocking efforts
