Department of Education would directly pay salary and benefits for all teachers employed by school districts, using funds from the general appropriation bill

South Dakota Board of Education Standards would establish a statewide salary schedule starting at the target teacher salary ($62,821.19 for FY2025), with increases based on certification area demand, highest degree held, and years of experience

Teacher benefits packages must equal at least 29% of salary

Repeals existing state aid formulas and local need calculations, including provisions related to local effort, alternative local need, overhead rates, and career/technical education funding for eligible school districts
