Snow bears must be titled and registered in South Dakota, with an annual license fee of $10 (prorated monthly)

A 3% excise tax applies to the purchase price of snow bears (less trade-in value), with failure to pay constituting a Class 2 misdemeanor

Owners without a South Dakota driver's license, ID card, or physical address must pay an additional $100 titling fee

$2 of each license fee goes to the motor vehicle fund, with remaining fees and excise tax credited to the Department of Game, Fish and Parks fund
