Creates a new Class 1 misdemeanor offense for failure to summon aid for a suicide attempt when a person is physically present, knows another individual is attempting suicide or has inflicted life-threatening self-harm, and intentionally fails to promptly contact law enforcement, medical personnel, or someone who can secure emergency help

Applies only to individuals who are physically present at the scene of the suicide attempt and have actual knowledge of the situation

Provides legal defenses for those who reasonably feared imminent harm to themselves or others, reasonably believed aid had already been called, or were under age 18

Includes an additional defense if it was otherwise not reasonably possible for the person to summon aid

Introduced by Senator Perry and has been extensively amended (hoghoused) from its original form
