Legislative Description

As enacted, requires in Rutherford County that any applicant for a motor vehicle registration who was a resident of the county in the previous year or years and was liable for and failed to pay the applicable wheel tax to pay all such prior years' wheel tax prior to being issued a current registration; not applicable to licensed motor vehicle dealers, financial institutions, or businesses and applicants engaged in the rental of motor vehicles, trucks, and trailers for periods of 31 days or less. - Amends TCA Title 55, Chapter 4, Part 1.
