Legislative Description

As enacted, requires THEC to make recommendations for changes to the lottery scholarship eligibility for GED recipients in light of impending changes to the GED test by the American Council on Education; requires the department of labor and workforce development, with the assistance of the department of education, the state board of education, and THEC to develop and implement a program for individuals who did not graduate from high school that will provide a means, other than the GED, to obtain a credential signifying completion of high school or its equivalent. - Amends TCA Title 49.
