Legislative Description

As enacted, allows court clerk, subject to approval of the judge, to accept a lump-sum partial payment in full settlement for all court costs, fees, and litigation taxes owed; provided, that the amount has been in default for at least five years and the amount settled upon is 50 percent or more of the combined outstanding balance. - Amends TCA Title 40, Chapter 24, Part 1.
