Legislative Description

As enacted, extends the Tennessee rehabilitative initiative in correction (TRICOR) board for two years to June 30, 2018; removes the TRICOR board's authority to nominate members for appointment to the board; removes the executive director of TRICOR from the board; adds the commissioner of correction, or the commissioner's designee, as a member of the TRICOR board, who will vote only to break a tie vote of the other board members; removes the authority of the commissioner of correction to reject the board's choice for executive director and to remove an executive director so that the board will be solely vested with the authority to appoint and remove the executive director. - Amends TCA Title 4, Chapter 29; Section 8-30-102; Title 41, Chapter 6, Part 2 and Title 41, Chapter 22.
