Tennessee Historical Commission and other state entities (except the State Building Commission) are prohibited from regulating renovation, alteration, or demolition of properties not listed on the Tennessee Register of Historic Places

Properties that were considered for but declined placement on the Tennessee Register, or that never received historic preservation benefits, are exempt from state historic preservation oversight

Tennessee Historical Commission must complete review of community development block grants for affected properties within 15 business days of the act's effective date

Failure to meet the 15-day review deadline requires the Commission to appear before the Joint Government Operations Committee to justify noncompliance

Passed April 17, 2025 and signed by Governor Bill Lee in May 2025, effective immediately upon becoming law
