Limits billing after service cancellation for telephone, cable TV, internet, and broadband providers effective July 1, 2025

Cancellations in the first half of a billing cycle allow providers to charge only through the remainder of that cycle with no subsequent billing

Cancellations in the second half of a billing cycle permit charging for the remainder plus up to one additional billing cycle

Applies to for-profit, nonprofit, and government entities providing covered services, but does not prohibit minimum contract duration terms

Violations constitute unfair or deceptive trade practices under the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act of 1977, subject to its penalties and remedies
