Requires attending physicians who agree to sign a death certificate to provide written agreement that must be physically present with the deceased at the place of death

Amends three separate subdivisions of Tennessee Code Section 68-3-511 to add the written agreement requirement

Preserves county medical examiners' authority to investigate deaths when inquiry is required under existing law (§ 68-3-502 or the Post-Mortem Examination Act)

Clarifies that county medical examiners retain responsibility to certify, complete, sign, or file death certificates as required by law

Took effect immediately upon becoming law (passed March 20, 2025; approved April 3, 2025)
