Comptroller of the Treasury must review foundational literacy skills plans submitted to the Department of Education, examining whether plans were initially approved or denied and what revisions were required for approval

Department of Education must provide any information requested by the Comptroller's office as soon as practicable

Comptroller reporting frequency changed to every 3 years for reviews of data, practices, and outcomes related to foundational literacy

Reports must be submitted to the Senate Education Committee chair, House committee chair with jurisdiction over student literacy, and the State Board of Education, and published on the Comptroller's website

Effective immediately upon becoming law (passed February 27, 2025; approved March 12, 2025)
