Establishes the "Rescue Squad Recognition Act" requiring all rescue squads in Tennessee to obtain recognition and certification from the state fire marshal's office to legally operate

Defines rescue squads as organizations providing services in at least 4 of 11 specialized disciplines (including rope rescue, dive rescue, swiftwater rescue, and wilderness search and rescue), with 85% of personnel meeting NFPA 1006 standards and at least 75% volunteer staffing

Requires a processing fee not to exceed $50 for initial applications and renewals, with certificates valid for 3 years; new rescue squads must also obtain approval from the local elected governing body

Provides exemptions for rescue squads with active state charters before July 1, 2025 that do not meet the new definition, allowing them to continue operating under grandfathered status

Violations constitute a Class C misdemeanor punishable by a $50 fine only; the act takes effect July 1, 2025 for operational requirements
