Public facilities cannot be named after local public officials during their term or for 2 years after leaving office, unless private funds cover the naming costs

The 2-year waiting period is waived if the public official is deceased or an honorably discharged military veteran

Public officials are prohibited from making charitable donations in their own name using public funds; such donations must be attributed to the public entity providing the funds

Public facilities cannot be named for any public official convicted of a felony or crime of moral turpitude

Facilities named before this act takes effect, or named for individuals who were not public officials at the time of naming, may retain those names
