Allows Tennessee adults (18+) with a terminal disease expected to cause death within 6 months to request prescription medication to end their life, requiring confirmation by both an attending and consulting physician that the patient is capable and acting voluntarily

Requires patients to make one written request and two oral requests, with at least 15 days between the first and second oral request, and 48 hours after the written request before medication can be prescribed (waiting periods may be waived if death is imminent)

Mandates psychiatric or psychological counseling if either physician believes the patient may have a mental disorder or depression impairing judgment, with medication prohibited until the patient is cleared

Provides civil and criminal immunity for healthcare providers participating in good faith, while allowing healthcare facilities to prohibit participation on their premises with proper notice

Creates Class A felony penalties for forging/altering requests, concealing rescissions, or coercing patients, and explicitly excludes actions under this law from being classified as suicide, assisted suicide, or homicide
