Requires parents/guardians enrolling students in Tennessee public schools or charter schools to submit proof of U.S. citizenship or legal status, such as a U.S. birth certificate, U.S. passport, voter registration with ID, or military identification.

Students who cannot provide citizenship documentation may still enroll if the parent/guardian pays tuition equal to the per-pupil state and local funding amount calculated through Tennessee's school funding formula.

Exempts parents who have previously submitted documentation to the same school or who are employed by the LEA or charter school from the documentation requirement.

Schools must maintain records that documentation was submitted but are not required to retain copies of the actual documents.

Takes effect for the 2025-2026 school year and all subsequent years.
