Restricts who may conduct searches on school property to school resource officers acting as school officials, school security officers, or school administrators who have completed required training

Requires principals to notify parents or legal guardians within a reasonable time when a student under 18 years of age is searched

Mandates the Tennessee Department of Education establish and maintain an orientation and training program for school administrators on student rights relative to searches

Explicitly prohibits searches that violate the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution or Article I, Section 7 of the Tennessee Constitution, while preserving law enforcement's authority to conduct lawful searches on school property

Takes effect July 1, 2025, except for the training program provisions which take effect immediately upon becoming law
