Local education agencies (LEAs) must notify parents or guardians at least 10 calendar days before an IEP team meeting, unless both parties mutually agree to an earlier meeting date

LEAs must provide parents with a copy of the student's evaluation report at least 48 hours before the scheduled IEP meeting when the report will be used for eligibility determination or draft IEP development

If an LEA creates a draft IEP before the meeting, parents must receive a copy at least 48 hours in advance, unless the parent declines in writing more than 48 hours beforehand

The act took effect immediately upon becoming law, with Governor Bill Lee signing on April 11, 2025
