Bans the sale, manufacture, and new possession of assault weapons in Tennessee effective July 1, 2025, with assault weapons defined to include over 100 named firearms (such as AR-15, AK-47, and UZI variants) plus semiautomatic rifles, pistols, and shotguns with specific features like detachable magazines, folding stocks, or pistol grips

Grandfathers existing assault weapon owners who possessed firearms before July 1, 2025, but requires them to apply for a certificate of possession by July 1, 2026, and submit the certificate to both the Department of Safety and local law enforcement by January 1, 2027

Prohibits inheritance of grandfathered assault weapons; heirs must render the weapon permanently inoperable, sell it to a licensed dealer, or remove it from Tennessee within 90 days

Makes it a Class E felony to purchase, possess, manufacture, or sell trigger cranks, bump stocks, bump-fire devices, or any accessory designed to accelerate the rate of fire of a semiautomatic rifle

Requires the Department of Safety to create the certificate of possession application, certificate of transfer forms, and submission processes by January 1, 2026
