Students must submit either a preparticipation medical evaluation signed by a physician, PA, or nurse practitioner (dated no earlier than April 15), or a signed statement from a parent/guardian declining the evaluation on grounds of sincerely held beliefs

Creates the Safe Stars Advisory Committee to develop educational guidelines about sudden cardiac arrest warning signs (fainting, difficulty breathing, chest pains, dizziness, abnormal heart rate) and electrocardiogram (EKG) testing

Committee membership includes the commissioners of education and health (or designees) plus four legislative members appointed by House and Senate speakers

Committee must develop a sudden cardiac arrest information sheet, publish materials on state department websites, and meet at least annually to review and update guidelines

Effective date: July 1, 2025
