Prohibits immediate relatives of current elected officials in New Johnsonville from being considered for any elected position within the city to prevent conflicts of interest and nepotism

Defines "immediate relative" as spouse, parent, child, sibling, stepchild, stepparent, grandparent, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law

Restriction applies only to city-level elected positions; relatives of state, county, federal, or other officials remain eligible for New Johnsonville elected offices

Does not remove current incumbents from office or shorten existing terms, consistent with Tennessee Constitution Article XI, Section 9

Requires two-thirds approval by New Johnsonville's legislative body to take effect; passed April 21, 2025 and signed by Governor Bill Lee on May 21, 2025
