Registration must be completed within 60 days of property acquisition and include the buyer's name, property addresses, registered agent information, contact details for a property manager, and number of rental units

Civil penalty of up to $2,000 per violation for institutional buyers who fail to timely register their properties

All registration information becomes public record and must be made available on a searchable website or database maintained by the Secretary of State

Stated purpose is to assist state and local governments in monitoring and enforcing compliance with health, safety, and housing standards
