TN HB1802

Expands justification for using deadly force to protect property when a person reasonably believes it is immediately necessary to prevent or terminate trespass, arson, property damage (including livestock), burglary, theft, robbery, or aggravated cruelty to animals

Requires the person to reasonably believe either that the property cannot be protected by any other means, or that using non-deadly force would expose them or a third person to risk of death or serious bodily injury

Prohibits the use of deadly force against an individual who is facing away from the person claiming the defense

Amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 39-11-614 by replacing the existing subsection (c) with new provisions

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
