TN HB1807

Expands the definition of "next of kin" for death certificate purposes to include both the person with highest priority under existing law (§ 62-5-703) and any surviving parent of the decedent

Authorizes the decedent's spouse, child, parent, or other next of kin to request specific information on death certificates

Permits the other parent of a decedent's minor child (under 18) to request death certificate information, even if not otherwise considered next of kin

Allows authorized representatives to make death certificate requests on behalf of eligible family members

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
