TN HB2004

Requires private employers to pay departing employees for all unused accrued paid leave (annual leave or vacation time) at their final rate of compensation within 30 days of separation

Prohibits employment contracts and employer policies from including "use it or lose it" provisions that forfeit accrued paid leave when an employee leaves

Allows employers to cap the maximum amount of paid leave employees can accumulate before being required to use some

Exempts state government, local governments, and political subdivisions from these requirements

Applies to employment contracts executed, modified, or amended after the effective date; collective bargaining agreements may provide different terms
