TN HB2022

Amends the City of Trenton charter to establish that the City Recorder shall be appointed by the Mayor with Board of Mayor and Aldermen confirmation, serving as financial agent and custodian of funds, budgets, and records under the Mayor's direction for an indefinite term.

Establishes that the Chief of Police shall be appointed by the Mayor with Board confirmation, serving as chief law enforcement officer under the Mayor's direction for an indefinite term.

Requires both the City Recorder and Chief of Police to become residents of Gibson County within 6 months of appointment and maintain residency throughout their employment.

Requires approval by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the City of Trenton's legislative body before taking effect, with approval or rejection to be certified to the secretary of state.
