Removes certain firearm possession and carry restrictions from Tennessee Code, including deleting multiple subsections of § 39-17-1307 and expanding where firearms may be legally carried in state and local parks, greenways, and recreational areas

Limits the firearm prohibition for misdemeanor domestic violence convictions to 5 years, and creates a new petition process (§ 39-17-1367) allowing individuals to seek firearm rights restoration after 3 years if they can demonstrate they are no longer a public safety risk

Removes controlled substance use as an automatic disqualifier for firearm possession unless a court has found within the prior year that the person's substance use creates a material risk of dangerous conduct

Expands juvenile firearm exceptions to allow minors to possess rifles or shotguns at their residence, place of business, or premises, for livestock protection from predators, and if emancipated

Changes references from "handgun" to "firearm" in statutes governing juvenile possession and providing firearms to juveniles; effective date is July 1, 2026
