On July 1, 2026, the current Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation board of directors is dissolved and replaced with a new 9-member board appointed equally by the governor, speaker of the Senate, and speaker of the House (3 each)

Initial board terms are staggered (2, 3, and 4 years) with subsequent terms lasting 4 years; directors serve without compensation but receive per diem and travel reimbursement

Directors serve at the pleasure of their appointing authority and may be removed with or without cause; they are prohibited from contributing to campaigns for governor or General Assembly candidates

Information regarding the CEO/president's hiring, employment, compensation, and contract terms becomes public record, and the corporation must comply with all public records and open meetings requirements applicable to state agencies

The corporation remains an independent state instrumentality not subject to supervision by other departments or agencies
