LEAs and public charter schools must notify parents at least 30 days before providing firearm safety instruction and inform them of the opt-out option

Parents, legal guardians, or students 18 and older may opt out of firearm safety instruction by submitting written notice to the school principal

Students who opt out cannot be penalized academically for not participating in firearm safety instruction

Adds "school social worker" to existing provisions in Section 63-1-176(c)(9) that previously applied only to school counselors and school psychologists

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
