Students receiving state education funds (IEAs, vouchers, scholarships) to attend private schools, church-related schools, or home schools must take annual TCAP tests, grade 11 state examinations, and universal reading screeners for grades K-3

Participating private schools must publish lesson plans, syllabi, library materials lists, and academic standards for all classes on their websites

All educators at participating private schools must hold valid Tennessee public school teaching licenses issued by the state board of education

Participating private schools must evaluate teachers using the same evaluation requirements that apply to public school teachers under § 49-1-302

The Department of Education must include participating private schools in the state's letter grade school rating system, effective July 1, 2026
