Defendants who fail to appear in court on violent or sexual felony charges must be placed on state or federal fugitive databases, including the National Crime Information Center

Courts determine whether the underlying felony qualifies as violent or sexual in nature when issuing bench warrants or capias for failure to appear

Bail bond sureties may be relieved of financial liability if the defendant is not entered into fugitive databases within 10 business days of the agency receiving the warrant

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
