School boards may offer severance pay to directors of schools terminated without cause, but the amount cannot exceed the director's annual salary at the time of termination

School boards are prohibited from offering or providing any severance pay to directors of schools terminated with cause

Effective date is July 1, 2025, and applies only to contracts entered into or renewed on or after that date
