Recognizes her nearly 40-year career as an elementary school educator across four states, retiring in May 2014 as a third-grade teacher at Reeves-Rogers Elementary School in Murfreesboro

Acknowledges her community service including organizing summer art camps at the MTSU President's Residence, chairing the Alpha Kappa Alpha Teens program, and leading educational tours to China

Notes her volunteer work with Belle Aire Baptist Church, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Board, Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation Board, Murfreesboro City Schools Foundation Board, and Murfreesboro Domestic Violence Center
