Tennessee General Assembly formally welcomes the Trust for Public Land's national board of directors to the state, marking the organization's first board convening in Tennessee in twenty-five years.

Trust for Public Land, founded in 1972, has partnered with Tennessee since 1987 and has protected over four million acres nationally across all fifty states, creating more than 5,500 parks, trails, and schoolyards.

In Tennessee, the organization has expanded park and green space access to more than 30,000 residents and supported over eighty outdoor projects throughout the state.

Key Tennessee projects include protecting McLean Rock (birthplace of the Cumberland Trail), planning and funding the Tennessee Riverpark and Riverwalk in Chattanooga since 1994, and conserving land at Chickasaw National Wildlife Refuge along the Mississippi River.

The resolution expresses appreciation for Trust for Public Land's bipartisan conservation leadership and partnership in preserving Tennessee's natural heritage and outdoor recreation opportunities.
