Tennessee General Assembly honors Ty Simpson of Martin for his college football career as quarterback at the University of Alabama

Simpson won the TSSAA Class 2A state championship at Martin Westview High School in 2021 and was named Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year after passing for 2,827 yards and 41 touchdowns

In the 2025 season as Alabama's starting quarterback and team captain, Simpson led the SEC with 28 passing touchdowns and 3,500 passing yards while guiding the team to a 10-3 record and CFP quarterfinals

Simpson received All-SEC Second Team honors, was named a Manning Award finalist, and is projected as a first-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft
