Received the British Interplanetary Society's M. N. Golovine Award in 1970 and the NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal in 1998 for his mission design contributions

Served as the Boling Chair of Excellence in Space Propulsion at UTSI and currently serves as Vice President and Chief Engineer of Gloyer-Taylor Laboratories

Directs that an appropriate copy of the resolution be prepared for presentation to Dr. Flandro
