Landlords prohibited from banning tenants or guests from lawfully possessing, carrying, transporting, or storing firearms, firearm parts, or ammunition in rental units, vehicles in tenant parking areas, and common areas necessary for entry/exit, effective July 1, 2025

Existing leases with firearm restrictions in effect on July 1, 2025 must be amended to comply by July 1, 2026; any firearm-related lease terms violating the law become void and unenforceable immediately on July 1, 2025

Tenants adversely affected by violations may sue landlords for actual damages, punitive damages, and attorney fees

Landlord rules and regulations must comply with the new firearm provisions to be enforceable
