Creates the "school safety grant fund" within the state general fund to support local education agencies (LEAs) and public charter schools with prevention, reduction, and response efforts for school shootings

Grants are available to schools that have experienced a shooting or firearm-related death on school grounds during a school day while students were present

Priority for grants is based on need assessment including availability of school resource officers, number of firearm-related incidents in the past 2 school years, and financial resources of the LEA or charter school

Department of Education must submit annual reports to legislative committees by March 1, 2026, and each subsequent year on program status and grant allocation

Effective July 1, 2025; fund balance carries forward each fiscal year and does not revert to the general fund
