Department of Correction must coordinate with Department of Safety to provide driver licenses to inmates who had valid, good-standing licenses prior to incarceration; inmates without valid licenses receive photo identification instead

Driver licenses that expired solely due to incarceration are automatically extended for 6 months after release from custody

Licenses that expired during imprisonment or within 6 months after discharge qualify for the automatic extension

Department of Safety must notify license holders within 3 days of extension that they need to apply for renewal

Departments of Safety and Correction must establish a data-sharing agreement to implement these provisions and may promulgate rules under the Uniform Administrative Procedures Act
